Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for the 2017 Jordan's Walk/ Run for Adoption benefiting MARE!
Jose was only 4 1/2 when came home in January of 2012. His smile, infectious laughter, quick wit, love of anything sports and relentless questions - there was never any doubt that he is Jonathan and my son. His adoption was finalized in September of 2012 and I will always view Jose's coming home and into our lives as an act of pure kismet.
I am walking for the thousands of children that haven't found their place yet. For those children younger and older than Jose, for those with siblings or all alone. Every child deserves a family, a team, a home - their own little bit of kismet.
The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) was founded in 1957 to find “a permanent place to call home” for children and teens in foster care in Massachusetts, including sibling groups and children who are traditionally harder to place. We do this by recruiting, educating, supporting and advocating for families throughout the adoption process.
Their goal is to find a safe, nurturing permanent family for every child in Massachusetts foster care who cannot be reunited with his/her birth family. MARE has helped more than 5,750 children join nurturing, stable homes through its history of innovative programming. (Including Jose!)
I am very excited to be part of this year's event and I hope you will join me in supporting MARE's work finding adoptive homes for children in foster care.
I am grateful for your donations and for your help in spreading the word. Use these hashtags to promote the event on social media - #iwalkforadoption and #WalkRunAdopt.
